The company has an extensive stock of loose opal, including solid black, boulder, crystal and light opals as well as doublets and triplets. The range includes fine gem quality pieces through to commercial grades. A range of beautiful opal jewellery complements the collection of loose stones. Cody Opal received a Governor of Victoria Export Award 2001 and was a finalist in the Australian Export Awards. Company Directors, Andrew and Damien Cody combine expertise and a passion for Australian opal with broad management and business experience. Andrew is World President of the International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA). He is a founding member and former Chairman of the Australian Jewellery and Gemstone Industry Council. He has served as President and on the committee of the Australian Opal and Gem Industry Association. He is author of the best selling book "Australian Precious Opal - A Guidebook for Professionals", which has been published in English and Japanese and used by industry and gemmological institutions around the world. Damien has a Diploma in Business Studies and was a Founding Fellow of the Australian Sales Institute. Prior to 1998 he held a number of Senior Executive Positions with International Financial Institutions and held a number of positions with Industry Boards. He also ran his own Management Consulting Business. He is a Director of Cody Opal Australia Pty Ltd and Cody Gemtec Retail Pty Ltd. He has served two terms as the Ambassador to Australia for the International Colored Gemstone Association (ICA). One term as ICA’s Executive Ambassador and Liaison to ICA Board. He is a Member of the ICA Communications Committee. Museum / ShowroomCody Opal has retail showrooms and museums in Sydney and Melbourne known as The National Opal Collection. Here is housed the world’s most important collection of opalised fossils and opal specimens. Visitors will discover the incredible link between the opal and the dinosaur and see life-size dioramas of the dinosaur age. Representatives of the company also regularly visit Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Japan, Switzerland, France, Germany, England and the United States.
